      About Chess by Hour

Chess by Hour is a free tool that shows when a Chess.com player wins and loses the most. Type a username and it reads that player's public games, groups them by the hour of the day and the day of the week they finished, and draws the pattern as a 24-hour dial, a weekday-by-hour heatmap and simple charts. It is built for players who suspect they play worse late at night, or better on weekend mornings, and want to check.

      How it works

      1. Enter a Chess.com username and choose a period, from the last 3 months to all games.
      2. Your browser downloads that player's public game archive from Chess.com's public API.
      3. Each game is placed in the hour it ended, in the time zone you pick. Wins, draws and losses are counted for every hour and every weekday.
      4. The best and toughest hours are ranked by win rate, using only hours with at least the minimum number of games you set.

      Good to know

      • Hours are when a game ended, not when it started.
      • Only standard chess games count. Variants are skipped, and draws count as not won.
      • Small samples are noisy. A 70% win rate over 10 games can easily be luck, which is why hours with too few games are faded.
      • Chess.com does not publish a player's time zone, so you choose it. When the player's country has a single time zone, the page offers it.
      • Only public data is used, so private or closed accounts cannot be analyzed.
